Are you a “wise owl”?

“Owl” (búho) you may know. “Wise” (sabio) too.

A «wise owl» is a metaphorical phrase (una frase metafórica) describing a person who is knowledgeable (conocedor, experta). In Spanish the phrase is similar: búho sabio.

Why “owl”? In ancient Greek mythology (mitología) there was a god called Athena, a goddess (diosa) of wisdom (sabiduría). The idea was that owls could see in the dark and see “hidden truths” (verdades ocultas) and therefore have greater knowledge.
